Valor Quilt Bee is an online, ongoing, EASY-GOING quilting bee to coordinate far-flung individual contributions of blocks for Quilts of Valor tops. These quilts are presented to U.S. servicemembers who have been injured/afflicted on deployment. It is open to everyone who wants to participate. Join the FUN! (To be added to the group, just leave a comment on any posting if your email is turned on in blog land, otherwise send email to: valorquiltbee@yahoo.com )

Ideas, Examples, and Tutorials

(This page is added to periodically)

BLOCK PATTERN IDEAS:

(just remember to make yours at 6", 9", or 12" - with the 1/2" seam allowance also around the edges)

TUTORIALS:

Feel free to simply throw together a 4-patch or 9-patch if you're pressed for time or a beginning stitcher. These make very nice fillers around more complicated blocks!

Quilts of Valor Foundation  <~~ The overarching organization

Below are links where you can scroll down to see lots of different Valor Quilts that people have made. Some are more striking than others. They don't *have* to be Americana colored, but ours will be, because we need to have some point of coordination with no block pattern being chosen.  ;D

More quilt examples

Because of the set-up of our Bee, our quilts will be scrappy style versus all-over design. But TRUST ME - they will be very pretty when we get finished with them!
